WEBSTER ROCK HILL MINISTRIES

The St. Louis Mennonite Fellowship supports the Webster-Rock Hill Ministries both financially and with food sharing.  Once a month, the Fellowship has a food sharing offering.  Members contribute money and/or food/hygiene items.  This is taken to the Webster Rock Hill organization to distribute to those in need.

Webster-Rock Hill's Mission

Webster-Rock Hill Ministries is an emergency social service organization with a three-fold mission.  The Ministries provides emergency assistance to those in need, works to create new life options for people and seeks to create community by breaking down barriers between people.  The Ministries provides opportunities for diverse members of the community to work and serve together in partnership without regard to class, age, race, or denominational ties.  The Ministries is motivated by God's love and Christ's example.  Services are provided to all regardless of religious or church affiliation.

The purpose of the Ministries is to help member churches fulfill their missions to serve people in need and to create community by breaking down barriers and promoting understanding between people.

History And Staff

Webster-Rock Hill Ministries was officially chartered August 21, 1982, and provides assistance to elderly, unemployed and financially stressed persons.

The Ministries office work is conducted by volunteers and  part-time staff.

Webster-Rock Hill Ministries currently provides the following services.  Those who currently reside in Webster Groves or Rock Hill, and those who attend a member church regardless of residency are eligible for the following services:

Webster-Rock Hill Ministries is an agency designed for the purposes of:

  • Meeting the emergency needs of low income persons in the community when no other resources are available.
  • Acting as d clearing house for churches by maintaining files on persons receiving services in order to avoid duplication and to assure that those who are most needy receive help.
  • Providing information and referral to clients, churches and agencies.
  • Assisting people to seek new options and alternatives toward a higher quality of life.
  • Building an awareness of poverty and social problems that exist in our community.
  • Building community among all the residents of the area served.

The Ministries relies on volunteers and donations to serve our clients.  Donations of food, children's clothing and shoes in good condition, personal hygiene items, household items in working order, and financial contributions are needed.
