OUTREACH
At SLMF, serving the larger St. Louis Community, together, is central to our beliefs and expression of care for each other. We strongly believe that each of us in our individual and corporate lives has the capacity to make lasting and positive changes in the lives of those around us. And that our faith is only as strong as our care for others in the world.
Some of our Outreach Actions and Partners
As Christians, we believe that one of our primary callings is to serve and love others. At SLMF, this looks like many different forms of peacebuilding, outreach, and care for the larger St. Louis community.
Winter Shelter
SLMF is one of the emergency shelters with Winter Outreach STL, where we are actively serving our neighbors who need hot meals and warm beds on cold nights in the winter.
Garden Committee
SLMF is in the process of transforming our building and grounds to meet the needs of our neighbors. One way we are doing this is through gardening and food production that is directly donated to local food pantries.
Isaiah 58 Ministries
SLMF partners with Isaiah 58 Ministries through volunteering, collecting needed items for their guests, and through financial support of this amazing organization.
Peace Meal Project
Monthly, SLMF sends a group of volunteers to prepare and serve food at St. John's Episcopal Peace Meal Project.
Interfaith Partnership of Greater St. Louis
SLMF is an active participant of the Interfaith Partnership of Greater St. Louis. We see interfaith dialogue as one way we can foster peace within the greater St. Louis region.
BMC Supportive Communities Network (SCN)
SLMF is a proud member of the Mennonite Brethren Council Supportive Communities Network (SCN)
Agape Fund
The Agape Fund is a fund that SLMF directs, which is used to meet the emergency needs of our neighbors in situations where other social services are not available. If you have questions about the Agape Fund, feel free to email us.
Metropolitan Congregations United
SLMF is a member organization within Metropolitan Congregations United, supporting broader change within St. Louis and beyond.
